A wonderful swim in the rain at a neighbor's house in Lake Louise. It was so hot, it was hard to believe no else wanted to swwim. Proof that Chuck looks really, really good. He and Phyllis keep track of every single thing he eats and drinks. This is Chuck's fifth year with stage four cancer. They spend so much of their life at Doctor's appts. and getting chemo treatments and other treatments, but it is obviously paying off with Chuck still leading a fairly active life. We were so extremely pleased to see Chuck looking so good. We went to an iron infusion treatment with Phyllis and Chuck and it seems that treatments like that are making a big difference in how Chuck physically handles the chemo.Amy Emeigh, (love that name) had corn on the cob and tomatoes for us when we arrived on Aug. 6.Nick's nice girlfriend, Allison, and Alyssa. They are looking forward to being roommates this year at college.
Phyllis lives a perfect bicycling distance from the lake, so I bicycled about every night while we were there. Had to wait until night, when it cooled off a bit.Got to see all the kids and grandkids. They are ALL so good looking and down to earth and unassuming and extremely pleasant to be around. Nick and Alyssa are going to try to make it to CA during their Easter break. That would thrill us to no end. Justin and Stephen are extremely affectionate and fun to be around. Tom, and Martha and Mandy also made it for a day on the lake and a celebration of Phyllis's birthday. They are featured in another blog. Between Don and Bobby's party and Tom and Martha and Mandy coming, the entire week was like a mini family reunion. It really was wonderful being around family and it also always brought back Mom, Dad, and Jan. In fact, Mom, Dad and Janice seemed to be with me the entire trip.
